https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5846-3938Professor Sleator graduated from UCC with a BSc (1H) in Microbiology, an MA (1H) in Education and a PhD in Molecular Biology. He holds a PGCert in Bioinformatics from The University of Manchester and a DSc from the National University of Ireland.

Professor Sleator is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Biological Sciences and a Principal Investigator at CIT's Centre for Research in Advanced Therapeutic Engineering (CREATE). He has authored over 150 peer reviewed papers (see Pubmed), and has an H-index of 38 (as of Jan. 2018).
